PHILIPPINES: EL NIDO, PALAWAN: NACPAN BEACH

July 19, 2018

Nacpan Beach is known to be the most beautiful beach in El Nido. It has a 4-kilomere strip of flour-like sand and the stretch runs going to its twin, the Calitang Beach. You shouldn't forget to bring your bikinis because you'll surely want to have some fun in the water and swim with the pretty big waves.

You should go as early as you can to enjoy the peaceful view of Nacpan beach and less tourists are visiting the place in the morning. We arrived at about 10am and saw the magnificent view of the beach. Under the scorching heat of the sun, we saw this long stretch of white beach with bluish waters and awesome view of some islets nearby.

You may opt to rest on the beach lounge chair which costs 250pesos each or pay for cabanas to rent for a day (good for a group). You may also bring your blankets and rest on the ground under the shade of coconut trees.

Beach lounge chairs are available here

The waves can take you to somewhere

Look at the coconut trees! They are everywhere

After taking bunch of pictures and enjoyed swimming, we decided to have some rest back to our rented beach chairs. Minutes have passed and we decided to eat our lunch then planning to go to Calitang beach or to the viewpoint where we can see the twin beaches. While eating, the weather started to change. Became so windy that the staffs decided to close and fold the umbrellas and chairs. We stayed at the small eatery/restaurant for more than an hour expecting that the weather would change, but it didn't.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to see the whole place but I'm pretty happy about this experience. So before the heavy rain poured, we drove back going to our hostel.

*If happened that you didn't bring any foods with you, there are some restaurants and eateries on the beach.*

Going to Nacpan Beach

The best option (for me) is to rent a motorbike or scooter. It is a better option for me/us because we can spend our time exploring El Nido and stop whenever or wherever we want. You can rent a motorbike/scooter for 350-500 pesos in the city proper good for a day. BUT take note! The road going to Nacpan Beach is not comfortable and not recommended for inexperienced motorists.

From the highway, you'll see a sign board on your left (like in the picture below).

You'll pass on the small wooden bridge and expect to see and take this kind of road. It will be more rocky than that if the weather is not good or a heavy rain had poured before your trip. So better plan your trip before the rainy season comes!

For your convenience, you can hire a tricycle that costs 1000 pesos (good for 3) for a day or book for the Tour E in some travel agencies. You can see it HERE!
