PHILIPPINES: Oslob, Tumalog Falls, Moalboal: One day Package Tour

May 10, 2018

CEBU never disappoints me. I’ve been to Oslob and Moalboal before but it seems my first time to be here again. This time, we tried to have a package tour with friends and it was a fantastic experience. Despite the rainy weather this week, it didn’t stop us from going out and explore the beautiful side of Cebu.

Early in the morning at 4am, as stated in our itinerary given by the travel agency, a car picked us up infront of our house. Around 7 in the morning, we are already in Oslob. We have decided to eat our breakfast before heading to whale shark watching. The resort where we stopped served us some mangoes and sticky rice and a cup of coffee.

After that we went to the whale shark briefing center and waited for our turn to see the whales. Tourists may only be allowed to swim and watch the whales for 30 minutes just an exact time to take pictures and see them closely.

After that, we get into the car and headed directly to Tumalog Falls. It was just a 20 minute car ride going up to Tumalog then we ride on the habal-habal (motorcycle) going to the entrance of the falls. As we entered the place, we felt and coolness of the wind.

The pool brought by the falls was bluish and not so clear. I almost had a teary eye As I stand facing the falls. It was magical and fascinating. I feel like the water was in slow motion as it flows through the stones beneath it. Some people describes it like a transparent curtain.

We tried dipping in the pool and crossed the center going under the falling water to get a great healing massage. The floor of the pool was a bit strange and rocky so you need to be careful. It is recommended to wear sandals or aqua shoes to be more comfortable. We spend more than 30 minutes at Tumalog Falls taking pictures and dipping into the cold pool. Then we left the place heading back to the resort to eat early lunch.

They served us various kinds of dishes like grilled fish and pork, chicken adobo, spicy chicken soup, lumpia and softdrinks. The foods taste good and it satisfied our hungry stomach. Around 11am, it was gloomy and started to rain but it didn’t stop us from going to Moalboal. We know that the water won’t be clear enough to see the sardines and turtles if the weather is bad but we didn’t lose hope.

We skipped Pescador island because of the weather. We headed directly to Sardines Run and somehow we saw hundreds of fishes down the water. The boatmen encouraged us to dive and swim under the water to have and take good shots but unfortunately the water was not clear enough because of the heavy rain. After some time the boatmen pulled us off to where the turtle was. He was just alone that time but still managed to swim with the tourists. It was worth the trip and our time.

Around 3pm, we are done with the things listed in our itinerary. We headed back to Cebu City and dropped off at Ayala Center Cebu to eat dinner.

I am so thankful to Arlei Travel and Tours for making this trip successful despite the bad weather. I am looking forward to seeing you again and avail your affordable package tours. You can book through their website or visit their Facebook Page
